Thousands of cattle are tested for bovine TB on UK farms each year.

“It immense and it shouldn’t be underestimated,” he said.

“Vets often have the unenviable task of telling a farmer that there’s a breakdown.

"The worst one is on a new farm that’s never had TB before, seeing that reactor come down the line with a lump on its side and knowing that you’re going to have to have one of the worst conversations of your life.”
